First of all; I didn’t know Lincoln was running!

Also, what happens if no one runs? Do those wards just go unrepresented?

They can appoint someone to the role, so I don't think it's left vacant. But it's hardly a stunning example of democracy in action, is it? What a shame.

Disappointing and surprising.

Hey Cheri! Mike's right, the Minister of Education has stated he would appoint.

I can't speak to the other boards, but the other problem is that TVDSB's still under supervision so we are going to run, then sit on the sidelines indefinitely if elected. No board meetings, no way for families to contact us through the board; literally no job until supervision ends.

Meanwhile across the province, the deficits they blamed on trustees continue to grow, and supervisors continue to receive their enormous paycheques.

I'm the first one to say that there was room for improvement in TVDSB, but I'll die on the hill that removing your elected officials was never going to fix the budget. And it punishes the entire community by not just removing the only people in the system who are accountable to you (as opposed to being accountable to the people who are underfunding public education in the first place) but by allowing them to update policies and pass budgets in private.🤷‍♀️

Thanks Sherri, Removing the officials the people elected shouldn’t be legal. I’m still baffled by that.

Thanks for digging in and fighting for our students. I sure admire your determination. Doug Ford is leaving a path of destruction and I absolutely cannot wait until he’s gone.
