Well geez, Stephenson is hardly the first councillor to have said that in chambers. Is it true? Well just look at who contributes to whose campaign for one clue.

I did have thoughts in the same area. For example, the oft-sung song about underinvestment in east London. There are people on council now who have been part of that chorus.

And, it’s a really interesting question for current times. I’m quite pleased to see standards that address potential misinformation, and I’m less pleased by some messaging on social media.

I’m unsure what I’m looking for but it’s not whatever we have now.

Old east village, the heart of a community, gutted for parking at the behest of Business. Now there’s really nothing but old building and gaps for people who can’t afford to go anywhere else. And all the cars bringing customers have gone to do business cheaper farther away. We weren’t the only city to bow to this commerce and the consequences have been roosting for decades.

No people, no business.

I’m going to end this rant. I’m starting to sound like Walter Gretzkyks evil reflection.

Here’s a better ending…

Celebrate your success. Absolutely. Don’t claim to be a victim of the disaster you left behind
